Students graduating at CIST’s Business Administration Diploma (BA) program are given the opportunity to transfer all their credits to Cape Breton University (CBU) to potentially obtain a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Degree. With our current partnership, BA graduates from CIST are eligible for admission directly into 3rd year BBA studies at CBU.
The Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Cape Breton University (CBU) consists of a combination of core and elective courses, allowing the student to choose one of several business concentrations: Accounting, Canadian Studies in Business, Economics, Finance, Information Technology, Legal Studies, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour and Industrial Relations, Tourism Marketing and Management, and Entrepreneurship.
The University offers students an opportunity to obtain both their Bachelor of Arts Community Studies (BACS) and BBA degrees in four years. At the end of three successful years, students will receive a BACS degree with a career concentration in Business. After the fourth successful year, the student will receive the Bachelor of Business Administration.
A cooperative education internship program is also available—an opportunity to earn income and gain relevant work experience while completing the BBA degree requirements.
The Bachelor of Business Administration program prepares candidates for self-employment and for careers in private and public enterprise, cooperatives, government service and for graduate study.
