The Business Information Technology Program prepares graduates with the technical and human relations skills necessary to succeed in the challenging and rapidly expanding field of information technology.
Graduates will have developed skills for business with a focus on Information Technology. Knowledge of computer hardware, programming languages, databases, file structures, networking, and software applications will enable them to solve business problems and exploit business opportunities. Graduates will apply their knowledge of the increasing dependence of technology towards problem solving, project management, technical communication, and quality control.
This program provides graduates with a foundation for future advancement in information technology positions. Systems analyst, network administrator, and technical support, management positions in programming, and operations are just a few opportunities available to successful graduates. The knowledge gained in the business portion of the program enables graduates to progress to management positions of greater responsibility such as managers in financial, marketing, and client services.
Graduates typically find employment as business analysts. Graduates combining Business Information Systems with another major will experience enhanced employment prospects in that area.
