In this program, students develop an understanding of various functional aspects of business, accounting principles, business communications, and related areas of study in the field. Instruction is offered in computerized accounting systems. Technical skills in financial accounting, cost accounting, and tax preparation are emphasized. The program is designed to create multi-skilled professionals who are capable of performing accounting tasks, communicate effectively with co-workers and clients, and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
Graduates of the Accounting Diploma program may work in a broad range of employment settings in all sectors of business and industry. This includes banks and financial institutions, government offices, public accounting firms, small businesses, self-employment, tax preparation firms, financial planning firms, manufacturing firms and non-profit organizations.
